Financial strength has funded investments that give
Viking a carefully planned blend of production capabilities that allow us to
meet customer needs. That same financial strength means Viking will be
there when you need castings.
We will be here with plenty of capacity to meet your casting needs. The
Iron Foundry has a melt capacity of 55 tons of gray and ductile iron per
day. Our Alloys foundry has a melt capacity of 8 tons of steel and stainless alloys possible per day. Casting sizes range from ounces to
1200 pounds in gray
and ductile iron, and up to 500 pounds in our Alloys Foundry. No matter
the size, right from the start, Viking's expert staff will apply their years of
experience to your casting requirements to ensure that you get the castings you need.
Viking also produces a new generation of wear resistant materials intended
for tough, hard and brutal jobs called "cast-in-carbide" (CIC).
CIC is a new wear resistant composite hard material. This casting
process permits tungsten carbide to be placed in castings exactly in areas of
greatest wear. The carbide is metallurgically bonded in the matrix of the
casting and provides optimal wear resistance and hardness. No need for
hard-facing.
